Dan Spiegel has been in involved in golf for 31 years, and is truly his life passion. His grandfather and uncle started him off when he was very young and it blossomed into a successful life in the golf industry. After competing in several Miami Dade Amateur Golf Association events as a junior, winning several events, he got his first taste of competitve golf in senior high school at Christopher Columbus. Dan and his team were very successful, and his three-year letterman career included one appearance in the Florida State Championship tournament.
After playing golf at Spring Hill College in Mobile, AL, for two years, he transferred to Loyola University, New Orleans. Although Loyola did not have a golf team, he played and practiced often to keep his game sharp. After graduation, Dan soon became the first-ever Varsity Golf Coach at Loyola. Although a young and struggling program, his teams successfully competed in many southeastern tournaments. The experience proved to be valuable for his students as well as setting the foundation for Dan's life as a teaching golf professional.
Dan moved to Denver, CO, in May of 2001, but continued his quest as a tour player. After two years of learning about the difficulty of tour life, he finally won his first tournament in Panama City, FL, in December of 2001. Unfortunately, it was the last professional tournament Dan would play in as the post-9/11 world made life very difficult for his sponsors.
To this day, the knowledge Dan gained from Rob Noel and his life on tour would be life-altering in the most positive of ways. Refocusing on golf as a club pro and instructor, Dan has rejuvenated his love for golf through helping many people improve all the facets of their games. He moved back to Florida in November of 2005, and is currently the Lead Instructor at the Links at 434 in Altamonte Springs, FL. His goals of being one of the best instructors in the country are full-steam ahead, and many more will benefit from his knowledge.
